I Hate Hoboken Taxis!

Okay, so I lost my suitcase. I had lent it to Ken for his business trip to the English countryside last month. But I hadn't been to his apartment since then. So last night, I was over there, so I brought it back. And when I went to call the car service, I usually take from Ken's apartment, they weren't answering. So instead I took the path to Hoboken and then jumped in a cab there.

And the damn driver wouldn't let me put it on the seat, so I stuck it in the trunk, reminding myself not to forget it. But of course I did, and I didn't realize it till I was sitting on the bus, going to work today. And so I started calling the hoboken cab companies, how many could there be. And they all say the drivers at the PATH are independent and you can just go to the PATH and look for the driver. Are you fucking kidding me?? Who can remember what your cab driver looks like. It's not like it's some hot guy that would definitely take a gander at.

So frustrating, and it's my mom's suitcase that she gave me to keep here for traveling. I still have my little one that I use for just weekend trips to Ohio and such. But this was the one I used for vacations. And I am going to Disneyworld in February, so the hunt for a new suitcase is on. I guess it's a good time of year, lot's of sales going on!

In the meantime, I never blogged about Rent. I saw it on the night before Thanksgiving. And I absolutely loved it. It was the complete musical right into a movie. Amazing. I totally want to see it again. And I will so be buying the DVD. Next on my wish list to see: Walk the Line!

And I had my post-Thanksgiving weigh-in today. And everyone gains weight over the holidays. But shockingly, I lost 1.2!!! Whch brings my grand total in just over a month and a half, to 8.4 pounds!! YAY!

Busy Thanksgiving

I'm finally back at my apartment. I've been at my grandma's house in central jersey since thursday afternoon. My brother, sister-in-law and nephew Ellis drove in from Ohio. He is the cutest. We had a nice long weekend. Thanksgiving dinner at Aunt Emily's house with all the cousins. Then on Friday, me and bro and fam hit statue of liberty and ellis island. Loved it. Have never been there, but boy was it cold.

More thanksgiving leftovers at aunt's house tonight and then keith drove me home tonight will all my bags of stuff from the weekend. Especially since I hit the crazy freehold mall today. Keith loved my apartment and Hoboken too. He had never been here!

But too wiped to write more tonight, especially since I have work tomm!

Hate Being Sick

Ugh, I have now been sick for a week. It all began last sunday night with a little cough. Which developed throughout the whole week into a horrible throat, cough and cold. It's just remnants now, but it's still annoying. And because of it, I stayed in all damn weekend. But I definitely wanted to get over this thing before turkey day.

And another thing that happened this weekend was a girl I was best friends with from age 4 on, who dropped all of her old friends out her life 3 years ago when she met her boyfriend. Well I found out she's enagged to this schmuck and it really upset me. Especially since I found out about it from a third party, since we don't talk. Whatever... moving on.

Went and got my nails done today and hit the grocery store. And I smeared one!!!!!! WAH! Off to see Pride & Prejudice tonight with le roomie. Should be good.

Blogger Solves Mysteries!

So tonight, we're going over the phone bill. And on August 13th, there are like 5 phone calls from our house phone to my cell phone. And I'm like that is so weird, why would I call my own cell phone. It was boggling my mind. I had to figure out the mystery, and then I'm like the blog. Maybe I blogged about what was going on that weekend. And Voila! It worked. I had blogged that day about leaving my cell phone charger at work and my phone was dying. So I must have been calling it to retrieve messages. How crazy, right! So now I know, the blog has many, many uses!

Otherwise, I am sick. And it sucks. I am all congested and have a horrible chest cough. I totally want to take a sick day tomorrow, but I can't since my boss already has tomorrow off. But if I keep feeling so crappy, I'll just have to take a sick day on wednesday. Otherwise, my weekend was good, since I didn't start feeling crappy until sunday, which made me miss leslie's family housewarming, but she'll have a more official one for friends at a later date. So friday, I just did some shopping and saturday night, my former co-worker Mona invited a whole bunch of us out Benny's Burrito's in the East Village, to celebrate her departure and her new job. She got a tv gig at a new show called Convictions. Very exciting. We had fun, it was fun hanging with lots of cool people from work.

DH and Grey's were both really good on Sunday night. My few brief thoughts. George is crazy and I hope Gabby didn't lose her baby. And on Grey's, I feel so bad for Meredith and I love Burke and Christina! Then today, was a tired day. Erica crashed at my place last night, after flying in from Super Soap Weekend. It was fun, catching up on our weekends. But then I had the lovely 8am shift at work, which amounted to a quite morning, because we ended up with nothing to do. But I got to come home at 1 which was nice, and I then feel asleep for two hours this afternoon. Hopefully I won't have trouble going to sleep tonight now. That's what nyquil is for when you're sick!

TV ROCKS!

I watched some good TV last night. Me being an avid TV fan watch a heck of a lot of television, but I enjoyed two great hours of television last night.

First one was Lost, spoilers ahead in case you haven't seen it yet. Like many, I couldn't resist reading online the spoilers as to who the death would be. And I wasn't all that surprised, what other girl could they really kill off. And even if I hadn't known, I would have guessed while watching this ep. The flashback episode was all her, and then she had so many sweet, romantic moments throughout the hour. But when we saw who shot here, I was like, OMFG! I was shocked, as I'm sure Sayid was. Especially when he saw Michael and Jin were with the girl who shot her. Next week, will be good, we get to see the other side of the island's 48 days.

And as for that second hour of great televison last night, it was Gilmore Girls. Yes, I know, last night was Wednesday, and Gilmore airs on Tuesday. Well being where I work, I was given a copy of next week's episode, entitled, The Prodigal Daughter Returns. And It was fanfreakingtastic. There were so many great scenes, that I rewound many of them to watch more than once. And the reunion, I totally teared up. And that's all I'll say, so many other great things opened. I love me some Gilmore.

And tonight is yet another big TV night. Alias, Everwood, and ER, plus OC and Reunion. Who has the time???

Potluck Partay!

So we had our first offical Potluck dinner on Saturday night. And it was so much fun, and we so much food. We had wine, sweet potatoes pie, candied yams, cheesy potatoes, spinach kugel, spinach dip, three apple desserts, eggplant rollatini. I could go on and on. It was a lot of fun. And it was cool how the conversations go when it's all hobokeners hanging out. From where the best fish place in town is to the crazy lady with no teeth at A&P. It was cool. And then we broke into karaoke and the played a game of Outburst. The hardest question of the night: name non-car products from Japan. It's harder than you may think. And after a little too much wine, I broke out into some karaoke. I went full-out on Love Shack. LOL. Can't wait for our holiday party that we're planning for Saturday, December 10.

Friday night, me and Erica finally took Dorothy out for her birthday dinner. We went to this fab Spanish place in the West Village called Sevilla. And the food was delish, along with that pitcher and a half of Sangria we had. But I was kicked myself yesterday, because I knew that it was going to screw up my diet. So tried to be really good yesterday, since I have my weigh-in today. And I stayed exactly, the same, to the exact point. Isn't that crazy. I guess even though I was bad all weekend, I was good all week, so I maintained. YAY for me. But I need to do better. It's been 4 weeks and I've only lost 4 pounds!! Oh well.

As for TV last night, DH was so much better than it has been in the past few weeks. I know everyone has been ragging on it, how it's not as good as least season. But last season was so incredible, how could they really keep that up. But it's still in my top 10, if not my top 5 of shows. And I really enjoyed last night's show. Especially at the end, when all the ladies were coming out to comfort Susan. And I just hope George did not rape Bree and Gabby needs to start looking pregnant already. Come on!!

As for Grey Anatomy's which is now my total favorite show next to Lost and Alias, it rocked as usual. I loved how Burke finally went and told the Chief about him and Christina. Shows how much he truly cares for her. And their story for next week looks really good. So funny how he's seen her naked a million times, but never outside the hospital. I wonder if this stuff goes on in real hospitals. And I am so sad for Meredith, go Bailey for standing up for her. "Let her mend!" But yay for McDreamy not holding the slutty wife's hand in therapy. And next week, they have a moment in the elevator. Can't wait. But ew about pregnant guy, his tumor was the size of a baby? EW.

I Figured It Out

Okay, the pic wouldn't work on my PC at home, but here at work on the MAC, it did. Now tell me, how cute is this pic?

My Computer Is Back!

YAY! I am back online at home after two weeks of no computer. My whole monitor was bouncing around with these crazy lines due to a loose hinge that connects the top of my laptop to the bottom. And yay I got it back today all fixed and boy did I miss my computer. It's so weird when you are used to having a computer at home, and then being internet-less. You never think about the things that come up that you want to look up online. What did we do 10 years ago when the internet just began. It's so weird to think about what life was like pre-cell phones and pre-internet. It's craziness. Like how did you tell someone you were running late before cell phones. And just looking up a recipe online. Back then we wrote people letters and bought recipe books. Wow, boy have times have changed.

On a side note, I missed Alias not being on tonight. What's up with all the repeats this week. No Alias, No Lost, No Veronica Mars. But thank god it's almost friday, it's been an insanely busy week at work.

And I finally booked my christmas flight. I'll be visiting the fam in Ohio from Dec 21-Dec 27. Lot's of family time which will be nice. And I'll be spending Thurs Through Saturday of thankgiving weekend with Ellis, Keith and Shannon at Grandma's house. But I have to work the Sunday before and the Sunday after thanksgiving. But I get comp days in exchange, so no biggie!

So, Sis in law Shannon called me today. When she told Ellis, they were going to grandma's house for thanksgiving, he said: Will Rana be there? and then he said: Can I sleep in Rana's room. He is so cute.

Here's the evidence, look at these pics mom sent me today of Ellis and my doggie Daisy. Ugh, I suck. Can't get the pic on here. Oh well.

Halloween Parade= craziness!

So Happy Belated Halloween to all. It was a fun day. I dressed up as a devil to work and I brought in halloween cookies I baked that everyone thought were so yummy. After finishing work early, Erica and I had dinner at our little sushi place on 14th and 6th. It was nice to catch up with her, it's not the same not seeing her every day like we used to. But when we went to leave that place. It was chaos from the halloween parade. We could barely move out of the restaurant. And I was supposed to go meet the roomie at 9th and 6th. That would have taken me an hour. Somehow we got onto the barricaded subway and i took the path down one stop to 9th street and found the roomie sitting on a police barricade. I joined her, but we couldn't really see much other than the big huge costumes and floats. But we did meet some interesting characters and saw some very funny costumes. But I made them mistake of not using the lavatory before I left dinner. I was killing my bladder for hours.

And I lost 3.2 pds last week. For those of you who don't know, I've been doing weight watchers for 3 weeks now. And I am almost at a loss of 5 pounds. YAY! I've been doing so good. No fried food, no junkfood, no candy. I'm on a roll. And no drinks, they're just so high in sugar.

I had a nice relaxing weekend. Went home and chilled on friday night. And I ordered in delicious mexican from my favorite place in hoboken, Charritos, except when I placed my order which was like 12.95, they're like the minimum for delivery is 16.00. I'm like, that's ridiculous I order from here all the time, the same exact thing. Idiots. And then they charge me a 1.00 delivery fee. Ugh. Saturday, I tried to do some tivo catchup since mom was here all last weekend. Watched some Prison Break and Supernatural. Great new shows. Then met up with Leslie at her mom's place on 72nd and Broadway. Leslie just got back from a week in Paris. She has amazing pics. Then we went out for italian, we ate at this great place called Arte Cafe. It was just a nice italian place and it was soo good. I had clams in red sauce over linguini. I'm on a clam kick. I love that dish. I even made it myself on monday night. Then we went back to Leslie's and spruced up my profile on jdate. I need to get in the game already. That right guy should be right around the corner right?

Sunday, I did more tivo catchup and watched a little DAYS on tape. It's so weird using the vcr, but with my lack of soapnet, I am forced to record days on the vcr, and tivo AMC. Speaking of AMC, that show rocked last week, with the Di and Ryan reveals. And the Tess reveal to Viki, as well on OLTL. And I love the job Martha Madison is doing a post-partumed depressed Belle on DAYS. As for GH, can't really say much, other than Robin's return, it kind of sucks right now. But I am looking forward to Laura Wright at new Carly and the train wreck storyline. I ended the weekend off by heading to the Hoboken A&P to do my grocery shopping. And the damn cashier wouldn't sell me wine because I didn't have ID. I'm like, are you kidding me, I am 29.

On a final note, I miss my computer and why is it 70 degrees on November 1st?
