Fondue is good stuff!

So after crashing on friday night after a long week. I slept in on Saturday to prepare for my roomie's birthday outing that night. So in the late afternoon, I went to get a pedicure and I ran into my next door neighbor there and after sitting and chatting for awhile, I come to find out that she went to high school with my college roomie Cara. Now what a dang small world. Then after getting prepped and looking all cute, me, Adena and friends hit the city.

We went to this fabulous fondue restaurant called Dip at 30th and 3rd Avenue. If you are a fan of fondue, which I am, you will love it. It was like 8 of us, so we started with a swiss cheese fondue and a white cheddar fondue, mmmm. And it comes with veggies, breads and green apples. So good. Then for our main course, we got this dip sampler of spinach dip, hummus and skewers. Before moving onto the dessert fondue of a peant butter chocolate fondue as well as a milk chocolate one. And this one came with brownies, rice krispie treats, fruit and marshmallows to dip. MMM. And of course lots of drinks to wash it all down. We then moved on to Mercury Bar at like 10:30 which was kind of disappointing, when we had originally scoped it out, it was playing cool 80s music. I guess it all depends on the DJ of the night. We only stayed till like midnight, since we were so overdosed on sugar. But a fun night.

Then hit the Hoboken Arts and Music Festival on sunday, looked at cute trinkets and had fried oreos and bought kettle corn to bring home. I then wanted to end it all off with my festival treat, a chocolate crepe, but got there too late, as I waited on line, they were already closing up. And then we got some wine coolers and enjoyed the kettle corn while enjoying the premieres of Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy. Love those shows. Where has Patrick Dempsey been hiding since the 80s and who is Alfre Woodard hiding in the basement.

Then yesterday, I had a day off. It was my comp day from working emmy night. And I just slept in and chilled. What is better than that? Lost tonight. And Veronica premieres. But I was lucky enought to have already seen Veronica. It rocks!

And did you see Jen Garner on Leno last night. She slipped that she's having a girl!

Lost is Back!

Wow, Lost is back and better than ever. I admit like everyone else, I was quite disappointed with the hyped season finale last may. Yea, the others snatching Walt on the raft rocked, but then they blew open the hatch and all we saw was a ladder. But this premiere rocked. So that guy that Jack was talking to in the stadium, I guess his name was Desmond I missed that, is the dude in the hatch. And what's up with his pimped out pad in the beginning. And what happened to Kate. And the whole quarantined thing on the hatch door. I think it's the island that's sick and Desmond knows that. So many questions. I want to see the raft boys and I want to see the other half of the island.

Last night's television viewing experience was a different story, however. After working till 10:30 on Wednesday and watching Lost while I was pretty dang tired, last night I was here working here till midnight. Lots of story changes to deal with. So I did catch the first ten minutes of OC, even though I have yet to see last week's. So I saw the beginning while having dinner here at the office last night. But then had to get back to work. So what do I find when I get home last night at 12:30 am after working a 12 hour day, but my cable box had a glitch. So TiVo did not record my ABC soaps, OC, Reunion or ER! Arghhh! I was so annoyed. But it all worked out. So a former co-hort at the soap mag lent me her tape of OC and Reunion and mom has ER on tivo. And I'm visiting the family next weekend, so YAY!

Me and Constantine

So last night was our big launch party. It was loads of fun and a long night. We got there at 6:30 trying to beat the crowds and this place had the most amazing sushi ever. Omg, it was like sushi with caviar on top of it. yummy. So lots of celebs were there Jessica Simpson, Diddy, Star Jones. But Jessica was surrounded by her peeps all night, it's not like she's the damn queen of england. But then who strolls in but Constantine of American Idol. It was so funny. I totally got caught up in his web during the second half of the season. So later in the night, I made my way into the VIP area and hung with Const! LooK!

And other reality crap stars were there Rocco Dispirito, The Gastineu Girls, Janice Dickinson, And Carson and Jai from Queer Eye. But a fun night overall. We all danced, dranked and I stayed till 12:30. I knew if I didn't leave then, I would be feeling it today. And I still am a little bit. :)

Ugh, I've Got A Cold

So I worked the all night on Sunday night from 8pm-1:30am.. fun coverage for the Emmys. And then I was supposed to take Monday off as a comp day. But then we heard of this big staff meeting with the london head honchos on monday, so I'm like, okay I'll come in Monday, but just late. So since I was wide awake by 10:30, I got here by 12:30 even though the meeting wasn't until 3. Then the meeting starts and most of us are standing, so I started feeling really dizzy. Combination of being so tired and the fact that it was also so hot in there. Then all of a sudden, the bigwig points at me and goes, you like you have a negative vibe. I was like, huh? Maybe it was becuase I kept shifting my body to keep from passing out. So then he's like what do you do, do you like it here better? I was like, dude I'm feeling dizzy here. Oh well. So then I went home. Pretty pointless.

So I went home, passed out from like 5-6:30 and still felt like crap. So now I know why. I woke up this morning with the full on head cold. Of all days!! Today is our big launch party, with tequile fountain and all. I just have to make it through the night. And I would love to call in sick tommorrow, but that wouldn't look too good, everyone would think I was hung over or something. LOL.

As for last night's TV, I watched Bradley Cooper's Kitchen Confidential. And I was just wasn't feeling it, I never watch comedies, and on this one I barely laughed. But the Season premiere of Las Vegas was so fantastic. I love me some Josh Duhamel.

Holy Gilmore Girls!

It's official, the TV season is back, yes some of my faves like Lost, Veronica Mars, Alias, etc. aren't back just yet. But they are just around the corner. And Tuesday night marked the return of Gilmore Girls, and the premiere of Supernatural. I tivo-ed Supernatural and haven't watched it yet. But I have been hearing good things. Back to Gilmore:

So many thoughts and I had some good ones Tuesday night and can't remember them now. But anyways:

Luke and Lorelai's hairdos: It was kind of funny how they tried to replicate Lorelei's hair from last season and of course Luke had a hat on but in the next scene, it was so much shorter. That cracked me up.... Loved the scene of Emily coming to the house and it was Michele there and then all the notes she left. And how Emily was freaking out that Rory needed something to wear to court. Why didn't Emily just go buy her something!!!... And I do feel that Logan really cares about Rory. Really. I think they're good together and that he really wants her back in school. ... And Lorelai and Rory: It makes me sad how estranged they are and how Lorelai didn't go to court. And Rory thought she would. Lorelai and Luke got engaged and she can't even share that. But Luke tells Rory next week!

Some further thoughts: I also loved the scene in the bed aboutLuke talking abouthaving kids and Lorelai was sleepy but then she totally heard him. But I was disappointed how the engagement went down. After Luke said yes, I was hoping he would get down on the knee and ask back. And then they were acting all weird about it.. I don't know.... I thought Lorelai proposing was great, I was hoping Luke would be romantic and ask as well... I thought of Lane too. What does Lane think of all this. She wasn't on the premiere at all. And what's the latest with her and Zach after touring with the band all summer... Oh and Paris's reaction was funny to Lorelai and Luke was like, did you give her your real number?

But at Rory's felon party. I'm like, she hates these people! But Rory is not on my good list right now. She is being selfish, so
selfish. Everything her mom has done with her and she drops her knowing that's she stabbing her mother in the back.

But Jess is supposed to be back in November. Will he get her back to school. The Jess thing totally fits. They both bonded over their books. I think he'll get her back to school. But I want Logan to stick.

And I've found out some things about the V Premiere... very excited! Even thought I have yet to see it. And I saw a new Alias commercial, it shows Sydney finding out she is pregnant and telling SpyDaddy. Can't wait.

On a side note, I need to start eating better. Time to take off a good 20 pounds. But not too easy at my office, always bringing in sugar treats. Like we just ate this chocolate fondant thing from this place down the block. It was oozing with fudge. I took a pic with my camera phone. But I'm kind of link illiterate on here. Oh well.

Off to see the Mets play the Braves tomorrow. My Braves Girl Erica and My Mets girl Leslie are attending. Should be fun, except that it's supposed to rain. BAH! But then I must hit the mall on Saturday. Still need to find a dress for my job's launch party on Tuesday night. I have been having no luck. And I have work Sunday night, from 8pm-2am. Lovely Primetime Emmy night. But I get off Monday, YAY!

Me. Want. My. Bed.

I am tired. And I am not just tired. but tiiirrrreeeddd. I have been here at work since 7am, when I am normally not at work till 10am. We were all told to come in a 7am to get this last-minute pages done and we have yet to have anything to do and we've been here 2 hours!! Argh. I am so tired, I could pass out at my desk right now.

And I tried to go to bed semi-early. I really did. My original plan was to go to bed at 10pm, but it ended up being closer to 11 and then I just couldn't fall asleep for awhile. I never go to bed before midnight, so it was hard. Now I'm feeling it. me tired..........

9/11: 4 Years Later

This is a sad day, and it will always be a sad day. To think, 4 years ago, how things were different. I was still living on Long Island with my family. And on that horrific day, I was just about to get on the LIRR when the first train hit and proceeded to hear the second one crash live on my walkman. Wow, the pre-ipod days. LOL. But I still went to work that day, who knows where my mind was.

So waking up this morning to all the names being read immediately made me tear up. The fact that it takes over 4 hours to read all the names of the pepole whose lives were taken is so heartbreaking. Hoboken is having a memorial tonight down by the water, but I also have to be up so early tomorrow. Yup, have to be at work at 7am!!! 5:30 alarm will be fun tomorrow.

But I did have a nice rest of the weekend. Had a dinner at Bubba Gump on friday with Ken, Carolyn, Micky, Suzy and her sister. Wow that place has good food. I really enjoyed it. And then last night was a really relaxing and fun night hanging with Karen, Erica and Ken in Hoboken. After dinner at Arthur's steaks, we walked around town and then sat around and chatted for hours. So a nice weekend, and a quiet day to remember today.

On an endnote, two crazy dreams I had this week: First, on Thursday night, Vince Vaughn was trying to kill me and on friday night, all my teeth fell out. Isn't that weird. And The OC is back. YAY! It was so good. Fall season is finally here. I tivoed Reunion but haven't watched it yet. Looking forward to it though. And Gilmore on Tuesday!

No Tax Week Rocks!

Boy is it fun to shop here in NYC with no tax! This was no-tax week and it's usually every year the week before labor day. So I had forgotten all about it all week. So I knew I had to go this weekend. After a fun friday night dinner at Benihana's with Erica, David and Ken. I vegged on Saturday and had plans to meet Leslie, Brian and Jared in Little Italy at 9:30. So I was like hey, I'll leave at 7 and hit the stores in Soho before dinner. But everything closed! What closes at 8 on Saturday? So I had to meander for an hour and a hal till dinner. But dinner was good and then we had gelati afterward. MMMM! Oh and since I had time to kill I also got a cannolli beforehand. Speaking of, I need to lose like 20 pds seriously. But it's not easy.

So today I finally hit the stores. And I did some damage. Spent 250 in Banana and 150 in Gap, but got tons of stuff and no tax!!! YAY! I got some pants, some tops. Cute stuff. Well my lovely three day weekend is coming to a close. Back to the grind tomorrow. But I am off again on thursday, my leftover free day off from last week. Which is perfect since Craig's big bday bash is on Wednesday night!

Pooped Out Is Me

Boy, am I pooped. The day started out crazy and that should have been a sign. I didn't have to be at work till 11am today, so I left at like 10 or so to go drop off the rent and then jump on the bus by 10:20. So I get to the bus at 10:20 and I wait and I wait. And let's not forget how effin humid as hell out it was, even in my little sleeveless dress. Let's be thankful that I work so many hours and I work in such a relaxed environment that being late is no big deal. But I was fuming. Finally 11am is approaching and still no bus, so I start walking toward the path, and then the damn bus comes. So I got to work 40 minutes late. And then the day just got crazy. Our copy chief is on vacation, one of my coworkers is still sick and today is our craziest day. And then by 6pm it was just me and karen. It was crazily non stop allll day! But we whipped through a lot, but more awaits us tomorrow. However, tomorrow is another day. The nice break in the day was one of the art guys is getting married this weekend, so champagne and cake party was at 4pm. YAY!

And even earlier in the week was crazier. I worked on Sunday, so i picked my free day off to be Tuesday. So I got out with Erica, Craig, Dana and Dorothy for thai food and it's all you can drink free wine. Sorry I'm too lazy and tired to do links tonight. So we drank lots of free wine, heck I had off the next day. So I sleep till noon and then I awake ready for my lazy day and I get a message that Jase and Karen called in sick, can I come in? Sure, why not. I'll get another free day off next week. So I picked next thursday, the day after Craig's big birthday bash! YAY. So I have been working non stop since sunday. I can not wait for the long weekend. Too bad Karen had to cancel her karaoke party. Oh well, hopefully she'll reschedule soon. Just not Sept. 30th weekend. That's my weekend in Ohio for Rosh Hashanah. I missed out on the last one because of Passover! Oh, the lovely jewish holidays!
