Clutz Central

Okay, so for those of you who don't know. When I went to Boston last week, I dropped my f-in laptop on my foot when I was unpacking. And it swelled at first and was sore, but I though heck it was just a bruise. But today it's still bothering me, a week later, so I decided to head over to a podiatrist and get it checked out. Luckily, no broken bones, but he did say it was a bad contusion and it should be supported, so he put me in an effin soft cast. I'm so annoyed. So for the next week, I'll be making my way around the city in this damn thing. Hopefully for my return visit in a week, I'll be able to take it off.

Meanwhile, I celebrated the fabulous Mona's birthday in the Village at Benny's Burritos last night. After a delish dinner, I hopped in a cab and it had these cool computer screens. Has anyone seen this? It was my first time in a cab that had them. I think it's pretty cool and it seems like you can use a credit card to pay too. I'll have to try that out sometime.

Back from Beantown!

Wow, can't believe I haven't posted since the fabulous birthday a week ago. Well last weekend, I spent a fun-filled weekend in Boston with the college roomies. After a boring ass ride up to Boston on Friday afternoon via the Greyhound bus, met up at the Best Western hotel and then went out to dinner with the college roomies, Tracy, Heather and Cara. I hadn't seen Tracy since April of 2003 and the four of us girl had not been all together since Cara's wedding 4 years ago. Which is craziness. But the minute we all saw each other, it was like no time had passed. After a delish dinner at Cheesecake Factory in Cambridge, Tracy and Heath dropped us at the hotel, but then ended up stayed until 1:30am as we all just couldn't stop chatting.

The next day, Cara and I spent the day shopping in Beantown and had lunch on Newbury Street at the Armani Cafe on the sidewalk tables and just had a blast people watching. That night, Heather picked us up and we headed out to Upton for Tracy's Jack and Jill party which is like a co-ed bridal shower, except it's just a really fun party. And they went all out with the Red Sox theme, I knew my Yankee bud Karen would not have been happy. The Red Sox were everywhere, but we had a blast. Me and the roomies:

And then me, Cara and Heather heading back to the hotel and all hit the road to come home on Sunday. Another fun bus ride for me back to NYC.

And the bus driver sucked going home! First as we were pulling out of Boston's South Station on Sunday, he completely drove over this big curb and then 20 minutes onto the Mass Pike, the stupid guy pulls over to inspect the tires. Thank the lord we didn't have to wait for another bus, we just continued on. And then the idiot gets to NYC and gets off at like 125th Street and 2nd Avenue, and proceeds to drive through the entire city that way. Ugh, but finally was home and I'll be heading back up there in October for the wedding, but that time it will be all about the rental car.

Birthday treats

Look at the fantabulous cake that Karen made for me today. It's not only chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, but it also has rolo cookies on top. Yummy!!! Karen rocks!

My last day of 30....

is about to come to an end in just a few hours. I can't believe it, time sure flies by. But my birthday dinner at Dip on Saturday night was a blast, it went by so quickly. What's better than good friends and chocolate fondue. And as I am about to end year 30, and celebrate the 31st birthday tomorrow, let's take a look back at my favorite moments of my 30th year.

1. My trip to Italy with mom in March
2. Buying my own apartment in Gramercy in February
3. My brother, sis-in-law bringing my nephew Ellis to NYC for the first time in March

And of course, many great moments with my friends here in NYC, and visits to my family in the lovely Ohio. Here's to many more even greater moments in year 31.

Birthday Festivities

While I still have three days until the actual big 3-1, I am off tonight to celebrate with some birthday festivities at Dip! It has such good fondue and it is definitely one of my favorite places to go here in NYC. And I'm going to have a nice crew coming out tonight, so I can not wait and it should be a fantabulous night.

On the flip side, Karen and I watched the Emmys together last night. And what the hell is up with all of this CBS shit. The only non CBS nominees were a few people from GH and AMC and that was it. Something has to be done about the voting process, that's for sure. And I am looking to next year not being another insufferable ode to CBS, being as I only watch DAYS and all the ABC soaps. How about some love for Days' Alison Sweeney, OLTL's Trevor St. John, All My Children's Alexa Havins, GH's Laura Wright? And that's just off the top of my head. Come on people. This thing definitely needs to change.

Okay time to get ready for party time tonight!!!

Time flies

Wow, I'm back from my trip to Ohio already. I can't believe it. But it was a jam packed four days and it flew by.

It was non stop! Thursday, my nephew had his dance recital and he was the cutest thing ever. And then on Friday, we spent the entire day at Cedar Point Amusement Park. We were there 11 hours! Craziness! But it was a lot of fun. Except for when my asshole brother tricked me onto a roller coaster that I normally wouldn't go on. The thing is, I love roller coasters, but I just don't enjoy the ones having an insanely straight drop down and my brother knows that.

But being the schmuck he is, he said there's no big drop, until we're clicking, clicking up the incline to start the ride and OMG, it was horrifying, as you can sort of see in this picture.

Then Saturday, after a fun-filled day at the temple pool, I headed with mom and grandma to see Knocked Up, which we all loved. But the funniest part of it all was when my grandma leaned over to me and said, "What's a BJ?" I almost died right there on the spot! But it was fun time.

And then today, I found out that my pregnant cousin is having a boy. Coming into a family of all girls that should be an interesting one. I guess we've got a Bris coming our way come mid-November!

Meanwhile, only one week left of year 30, being as my birthday is one week from today. And I'm looking forward to having a fun birthday dinner out with my friends on Saturday night... But seriously guys, where has the year gone????

Flying the blue skies

I am off to lovely Laguardia Airport tonight to fly off to see my family for a few days. And I am actually really looking forward to it.

Would you believe I haven't been out there in 6 months! That's insanity. I miss my doggies so much. I can't wait to catch up with them. It will be a fun time.

Tomorrow night, my nephew is having a dance recital and he will be the cutest thing ever. Then on Friday, we're hitting Cedar Point Amusement Park for the day. I really am hoping for no crowds. And on Saturday, we hope to hit the local pool and then I want to see Ocean's 13 with mom. Jam packed for sure, so here's hoping it doesn't fly by too quickly. I won't probably won't get back out there until the Jewish Holidays in the fall. Talk to you all soon!
