Bush Speaks- Blah, Blah, Blah

Well as everyone that knows me knows, I am not a Bush fan at all. I didn't like his father, but I was just a clueless kid when Bush Sr. was president. But come on, how did Bush get elected again after going on and on about these so called weapons of mass destruction and leading us into an uneccessary war. Well anyways, I digress. The point I was trying to get to of course was about last night's tv viewing, the first night of May sweeps. So normally, I have the crazy triple conflict on thursdays at 8! Survivor, W&G and The O.C. Ahh! But last night, only Survivor was on. And Fox booted The O.C. but aired the crapfest known as the Simple Life.

So, my fellow Hobokener Karen, the queen of the blogs, just told me that she's linking my blog to hers! Karen is the ultimate blogger, maybe I'll get some peeps, reading my random thoughts. So feel free to comment here. Anyways, TGIF on this front. I am looking forward to my carb fest party tomorrow night at my apartment. I am so ready for Passover to be over. I am sitting here right now eating bland chicken soup with crushed up matza in it. Yech! And Ken wants us to go out to dinner tonight. And how will I be able to resist the bread basket no matter where we go. But I must be the good jew. I'm not that religious to begin with. I just observe these main holidays. So I must hold out until tomorrow night. Even though, Passover doesn't technically end until Sunday night. Whatever! Speaking of Sunday night, am I the only one intrigued by this CBS movie, Riding the Bus with My Sister. I so want to see it. I don't know why. I guess I'm a corny sap. But I must TIVO it, Desperate Housewives will of course take precedence. And that same day is also the Hoboken Arts and Music festival. Can't wait.

Yeah, my friend Jody just popped by the office. She came in to have lunch with Steph and another former Digester. I miss having Jody here. I went to vist her for a weekend last month, but it's not the same as having her here every day, expecially since she lives in Phillie. We're going to try to go see Monster in Law, on opening night on May 13. We just love our Varty a.k.a. Michael Vartan (Vaughn on ALIAS). He is a total hottie!

Scott Savol Needs To Go!

What an exhausting night for me last night. I was here at work until 7:45! It was just about 7, and I was wrapping up, and then we find out that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise are dating. Ridiculous! Yeah, he's a hottie. But come on, he's 42 and she's 26! He just keeps going younger and younger. Poor Nicole. So at 7:45, I trek my way to over to Hammerstein Ballroom. Erica made me promise to meet her over at the Kelly Clarkson concert to see if we could score some tickets. So I cab it over there and she's already gone. And I did ask and they had tickets left, but I just wasn't in the mood at that point. When I finally made it home and stopped at the grocery store, I engulfed some matzo meal pancakes and entered the world of Alias.

Alias was a little slow moving this week. And I couldn't help but keep flipping to Idol, which is a whole other story, so I wasn't giving Alias my full attention. Good thing, I always tape it, because it will definitely be needing a rewatch. And then there's Idol, the bane of my existence lately. How is Scott Savol, the ugly, untalented freak still on this show. And they booted Constantine, who I thought was deserving of the final 4 along with Vonzell, Carrie and Bo! What is wrong with this country? We already know the answer to that question, based on our recent presidential election. But come on people! We must kick this voting into high gear. I admit I haven't voted the past few weeks, since I haven't been able to see the show live due to belly dancing. But come on people!

What A Rip-Off!

Okay, so like everyone knows, it's Passover this week and it doesn't end until Sunday night. Okay, okay, I'm ending a day early this year, in honor of my carb-fest party on Saturday night. But I am being good until then. So anyways, I walking by this french cafe near our office and they have matzo brie! So I just went and got some for lunch today, and it cost $7.50. And there was hardly anything. I finished in like 5 bites! Ripoff! So no more of that.

And this day just started off on a crazy note. I always set my alaram for 8am, seeing as how I don't have to be at work until 9:30. Well I am a snoozer, I usually get up on the second snooze. But this morning, it never went off again! And all of a sudden, I open my eyes and it's 8:40! I normally leave at that time. So I booked it, caught a bus at 9 and got here only 10 minutes late. In the pouring rain of course, and with no umbrella. Thank the lord, my jacket had a hood!

And last night was a crazy TV night. I was at belly dancing class, so I had to TIVO Gilmore and Veronica, tape Idol and Amazing Race and watch One Tree Hill live. Whew! Tuesday nights have become ridiculous. And tonight is Lost/Alias night! My faves! Yeah, I know, I'm a TV nut.

Ugh, and I was finally able to post this after Blogger crashed all afternoon!

Shaking the Booty!

Whew! I just got home belly dancing class, boy does that thing kick my ass every week. And after taking this class every week since the beginning of March, I have finally come to the realization that I am completely uncoordinated. The class is fun, we learn different moves with shaking the hips, but once they throw in the arms and turn on the music. I am just lost! But we've met these two cool girls, Lacey and Adrienne, in the class. And Adrienne knows the guy who owns the smoothie place in Hoboken, so he brought free smoothies for us. Yummy! And our new buds will be coming to our carb fest party that we're having on Saturday night.

And someone who was much better at dancing is one of my favorite actresses, Keri Russell. I finally went to see The Upside of Anger with my mom on Sunday. It was a little slow starting, but Keri Russell plays this aspiring dancer and she was awesome. The movie was really good too, it was so dramatic. And what a fantastic cast, Joan Allen rocked. I've been slacking on my movies, that's the first one I've seen in a while. And since I am a movie nut, when I say awhile, it has really only been a few weeks. Now back to watching One Tree Hill. Boy, do I love my WB dramas!

The Knockdown

So this all went down on Sunday night, when we were all still at grandma's house celebrating passover. Mom and Shannon are in the den and all of a sudden, we hear fighting. Supposedly mom washed three things that were Shannon's and she flipped saying, she wanted to do her own laundry. Weird! Then Mom starts cursing, Ellis starts repeating the F-word and it is all just crazy. And it was upsetting because it was such a nice weekend and I hate just leaving on a bad note. And my brother was going to come with mom to drop me off home in Hoboken. But now he couldn't go. When you're married, if your spouse is upset, you must stay! I guess one of the those things to look forward to. But according to Mom, all is fine. Later that night, everyone made peace.

And speaking of Knockdowns, boy was Everwood fantabulous last night. Delia and Andy going at it, Andy and Ephram, and Ephram and Amy. I love this dramatic stuff. But since I was working out in my building's gym during the show, I caught the tale end of the cheesfest known as 7th Heaven. And let's compare the two shows, we had Ruthie in the car with her sister (the ever annoying Lucy) and then mom consoling her because she was dumped and then an hour later, we have Amy in the car with Doc Abbott crying over losing Ephram. It's the amazing how much better the quality is on a show like Everwood. And to think 7th Heaven is always the highest rated show on the WB, that's whacked!

My Family

I miss my family. They all moved to Ohio last year. But we had plenty of together time this weekend. Mom, Dad, brother Keith, sis-in-law Shannon and nephew Ellis all came to Grandma's house in central Jersey this weekend to celebrate Passover together. And we all stayed in grandma's house together. Boy was that a lot of family time. But it was really fun. And boy do I miss Ellis. He is turning 3 next month, and I feel like I miss so much from him. The newest adorable thing he does is when I say:

Ellis, what's my name.
Ellis: Rana
What's my full name?
Ellis: Aunt Rana!

so cute. So Passover was fun. My aunt and uncle and three cousins were also there. A lot of togetherness from Thursday night to Sunday night. But then righ before my mom and brother were going to drive me back to my apartment in Hoboken, mom and Shannon got in a big fight. More on that later....

The Beginning

So here it is, my first official blog. I know that the blogs are like the new thing for 2005. So I figured I'd give it a shot, and heck I promised Erica and Dorothy, now that they sent me theirs. And I'm trying to get my friend Mandy to do it too! So today I've been stressing that I left the iron plugged in. Ever get that moment when you know you unplugged it, but once you're at work, you're thinking crap, did I? So I just called the roomie, who said she was home at 11:30 and didn't smell a thing. But still the mind still keeps going? Otherwise, it's been running around crazy. And just came back from a crazy weekend with the family. More about that later. I'm in the middle of a special issue here at work and must get back to Salem world. More later!
