I'm Back!

I'm back from yet another visit to Ohio, even though I actually got back on Monday night. But now I've already gotten into the swing of things with the new fall TV season and I am loving it already. Last night was a great TV night starting with the premiere of Private Practice. I have to say I enjoyed it so much more than the Grey's special episode/Pilot that they showed last year. It was such a vast improvement on so many levels and then there was the premiere of Dirty Sexy Money, and yes my dear friend Karen is not a fan of the title, but the show is sooo good. It totally reminds you of the Dallas/Dynasty type rich family soap opera like in the 80s, but so current and so much potential for soapy storylines. I can't wait to see where it goes from here. On to tonight, Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy and ER are back along with return of hunky Michael Vartan in Big Shots. We'll see how that one is... haven't heard too much buzz about it.

Dick Donato wins!

Wow, I can't believe it's over. It all began in the beginning of July, and Big Brother 8 is already over. Every year this show is my summer obsession, but damn this summer I was so into it. I think it was because of the great cast of Eric and Jessica, and Dick and Daniele. You get so drawn into the goings on inside this crazy house. But what a great finale. Here's to BB9 coming around the bend next summer.

With fall upon us, that means the TV season is coming around the bend. Tomorrow is the premiere of Gossip Girl and I am really looking forward to it. It totally looks like my kind of show. And then next week is the real premiere week. New shows I plan to check out: Pushing Daisies, Big Shots, Dirty Sexy Money, Private Practice and Bionic Woman. We shall see which ones will or will not become new faves.

Meanwhile, after a nice Rosh Hashanah dinner last week at my aunt's house in New Jersey, I am off to Ohio this weekend for Yom Kippur with the family. Can not wait for a few days off from work and nice long weekend away. Fall has definitely arrived!

Never Forget!

What a sad day... even six years later, it still hits hard. You can't help but think about that day six years ago when we were attacked and all of those innocent lives were lost. Interestingly, this is the first year that 9/11 has falled on a Tuesday since that horrible day six years ago. Surprisingly, the weather today is rainy and gross, unlike that almost perfect day on September 11, 2001. A sad day of remembrance for everyone today! :(

Oh Britney...

What was that? I had such high hopes. Yes, I am one of the few that keeps holding out for that big Britney comeback that we all know she has in here. So for the opening act of the VMAs I had such high hopes. And what a disapppointment. Yes, she was lipsynching, but that's no surprise. She has always done that. But this was really bad lipsynching. And then she was just so disconnected like she was just going through the motions, like she didn't even want to be there. It was actually kind of quite awkward to watch the three-minute performance. Come on, where is the Britney of 2001 who danced with a python on the VMA's?!?

Update

So jury duty ended a week ago, thank God. But it wasn't too bad actually, we found her guilty on two charges of assault and the case only lasted two days, so I lucked out with that one. I even got these 4 sticklers who were holding out on the guilty verdict to change their minds. Go me.

As for yesterday, I was in fact laboring on labor day. But it's all good. I get a free day off and I'll use it for the lovely jewish holidays which are coming around the bend next week.

Onto my current obsession, that summer reality guilty pleasure: Big Brother, I am so hooked, it's ridiculous. It's funny how into it you get with this show. But it is wrapping up in two weeks, which is crazy. How is the summer over already? But you know that means, the return of the TV season. Looking forward to some new shows like Gossip Girl, Private Practice, Dirty Sexy Money and of course my pal Mona's new show, Cashmere Mafia!!
